The 2011 dance showcase was a record breaking fundraiser for
KBMF. Held on May 21st, 2011 at College of DuPage, the show had over 600 in attendance! Thank
you to the performers and the attendees for making this event so
successful each year. We also had the choir from Naperville North
High School sing in the lobby before the show. It added so much
to have them there! Finally, the raffle baskets that were
assembled were beautiful! Thank you to Steps Dance Center parents
and other individuals who took the time to assemble and donate a basket
for the cause.

Proceeds from the event went to the Kathryn Bender Memorial
Foundation and Midwest Heart Foundation. Each year KBMF purchases
a new portable EKG machine that is used in the Young Hearts for Life
cardiac screenings at the local high schools. The program has
already screened over 50,000 students and approximately 2-3% of those
students are recommended to have a follow up with their primary care
physician.
